Hi, I'm Mike.

I co-founded Perch, the first reading app for the Internet. The best writing is moving online, and Perch is the easiest way to read it all. Your favorite blogs and newsletters are now in one place.

The project is still early, but our long-term goal is to help a billion of people build a healthy reading habit and get a little smarter every day.

We're backed by some of the best investors in the world (e.g. Alexis Ohanian's 776 Ventures, Ashton Kutcher's Sound Ventures, Naval Ravikant, Balaji Srinivasan), and we're in the early days of building out our team. If you're a world-class software engineer or designer and want to work with us, shoot me a DM on Twitter / X or email me at mike@[this domain].

I also created the Startup Archive. It started as a fun side project sharing one startup insight every day, and now it reaches millions of people every month on Twitter and Instagram. If it helps just one startup founder succeed, I'd be happy. But I think it could be so much more - a media company with the goal of increasing the number of successful startups in the world (what TechCrunch should've been). My focus is on Perch so I can't give it the time and attention it deserves. But if you're an ambitious person who wants to run with it, I'd be happy to discuss making you the CEO (with me as just the writer), and providing you with the funding to begin scaling it.

While I enjoy writing the Startup Archive, I'm interested in lots of things other than just startups (e.g. programming, design, technology, philosophy, health, and history). So that's what this blog is for - essays on whatever I find interesting. I hope you like em!

Mike
